From Handcrafted by GR Broussard: Ohio Tool. Co. Scioto Works compass plane. 1893-1907. Manufactured by the Ohio Tool. Co.They made two grades both of which received the Ohio tool iron. The 1st grade body was stamped Ohio Tool Co. and the 2nd grade body was stamped Scioto Works after the Scioto river where the company was located just south of Columbus. Ohio Tool partnered with Auburn Tool Co. in 1893. It’s my thought this is a 1893-1907 2nd grade compass plane.
